Inspired

I got to spend the day with one of my firefighter/EMT/booklover/awesome friend yesterday and it was pretty great.  We spent some time in the Smithsonian National Gallery of Art and can I just say it was very inspiring.  There is just so much variety in styles, mediums, time periods and aesthetics that I spent most of the time torn between wanting somebody to write a story about certain pieces and running straight home to my bookshelf to immerse myself in worlds inspired by these works of art.

We finished our day of awesome at a concert where again I was reminded how all the different art forms work and compliment each other...and also how much I was again inspired to read certain books.  Seriously the whole day was just one running list of books I now wanted to read because of all the cool things I saw and heard.  I love day's like this that remind me how the whole world fits together so well, and how reading is one part of it.  Go get inspired people...and if a couple of you want to write me some cool stories, even better!  Happy Reading Everybody!

Post Holiday/Work Sleepys

Hi Everybody! (Hi Dr. Nick...any Simpson fans?  anybody?)  If I seem a little loopy it's 'cause I am.  Holiday's were awesome (yay more books) and my 48 straight hours at the fire station were insanely busy, but so very productive AND I even got some reading done.

That being said, I am beyond exhausted and I have another 24 hours coming up, so this is gonna be short and sweet.  In fact this is all there is to it :-)  Happy Reading Everybody!

Read Dream Escape

My reading level is at a dangerous low and it is affecting my everyday life.  I have spent a lot of time in the real world these last couple of weeks, and I am sure I don't need to tell you that it has not been a good one for a lot of people.  Different people have different coping mechanisms and mine is to read.  I like taking a few minutes when life gets crazy to go to another world and forget about the crappy parts here for a while.  When I don't get to do that, I get  cranky and stuck in my own head.

Lucky for me the remedy is easy...read.  So that is what I am going to do.  I have a couple minutes here and there and I am once again make it a priority to read something for fun.  I have spent a lot of time reading, watching, listening and experiencing things that while necessary and even good to know, have not let me get the breather I need.  So if anybody needs me in this last hour before I have to head to work, I'll be reading reading reading.  Happy Reading Everybody!

The weather here has been unseasonably beautiful.  Most of me is upset 'cause it's November and I should be cuddled up in my chair with a blanky and something hot to drink, but since the sun is out
