Soaking It All In

I LOVE a good bath.  I love being immersed in hot water with the perfect seasonal bubble bath, sipping a beverage and of course reading a good book.  Unfortunately I have been spoiled rotten at my old house and the bathtub at our new house is just not up to my exacting standards.   Lucky for me, we own this house and can upgrade!  Here are some epic tubs that I am looking at to enhance my soaking experience

Claw Foot Tub

I have a thing for these old fashioned claw foot bathtubs.  In fact on our Great Redwood Trip, one of the awesome parts was soaking in a tub like this.

Kyoto Ofuro Soaking Tub

Seriously though, there is nothing not to love about this tub!

Dark Patina Tub

This totally looks like something straight out of a book...I want it

Copper Bath

I love the borderline medieval feel of this tub...now I just need some fine strapping lads to fill it for me...

Steampunk Tub

Seriously we are probably gonna do the bathroom in a steampunk theme...so this is pretty much perfect.

Obviously the options for tubs are pretty much limited only by our imagination and budget.  I seriously can't wait until I have a tub that fits my soaking/reading needs.  Happy Reading Everybody!

Oh Reading Tree Oh Reading Tree

Hi All!  FINALLY got a day off, first one over two weeks.  Got some reading done, got some shopping done and now I am finally in the holiday spirit.  To continue this holiday cheer, here are some super cool tree's decorated in a theme most literary.

Jane Austin Tree

I like the combination of little books and ornaments on this tree

Harry Potter Tree

I love this tree on so many levels, the cauldron base, the Hogwarts train and track, floating candles.  To make it even better it was built by the writer of one of my favorite blogs!  Go check out the detail pics.

Narnia Tree

It's a book, it's Christmas tree, it's all themed to my favorite book in the whole entire world....I seriously don't think it gets any better then this!

Lord of the Rings Tree

This tree just makes me smile...I think the giant spider with the book is what really makes this fantasy themed tree special.

Shakespeare Tree

All kinds of Shakespearen goodies on this tree.  I would love to sit next it and explore all the various items on it!

Ok folks, here is our quick dose of Christmas cheer, more to come including a holiday rambling later in the week.  Happy Reading Everbody!

This Tree Is Ready For Books!

Hi All, had a whirlwind of a holiday with family both blood and adopted.

We got a chance to get Christmas up...all that's missing is some more books for under the tree!  Happy Reading Everybody!

It's almost Halloween!!! Time for ghoulies and ghosties and some book themed spooky decor for your next fabulous book themed costume party of Halloween epicness!

Poe Wreath

An atmospheric and classic way to greet your guests.

Pumpkin Book

I love books, I love pumpkins...I love this idea!

Boo Banner

Printed on some ghost stories this decor also keeps your guests entertained!

Spell Book

I cast a spell on you...to leave me alone so I can keep reading!

Pretty Books

Even our books like to get up for Halloween, so let a couple put on these printable covers and join the party!

Ok, now that I have given you all some idea's I need somebody to have a party so I can come dressed as one of my many favorite book characters and have a rousing literary discussion!  Happy Reading Everybody!

Slide Onto My Bookshelf

How that I have completely covered all available wall space in bookshelves, I feel like I need to look into more options that help me pack more books into my space.  The solution seems to be sliding bookshelves, they allow me to layer up while still having access to all my lovely books.  Here are a few options that I have seen.

Sliding Into The Wall Shelves

I'm pretty sure this is a dream scenario, pulling out racks and racks of books for my own personal reading pleasure, YES PLEASE!

Closet Sliding Shelves

It's like a closet full of bookshelves!  Every time you move one door there is another behind it.

Sliding Door Shelves

With these door/shelves I can now use that pesky open space between rooms as book storage WOOHOO!

Folding Closet Bookshelf

Another pesky waste of space conquered!  Also combines my love of books and clothes so bonus!

Slide Case

A slightly more practical version of slide shelving, but with these I could at least double my book storage without too much extra space.

I shall continue to explore extra book storage options.  Anybody who has any suggestions is more then welcome to pass them along.  Happy Reading Everybody!

Perfect Curl Up Chair

Now that I am back home, I get to continue to work on my never ending quest for the perfect book nook.  Today I need to find the perfect chair to place in the center of all that great bookiness.  Let's explore some ideas shall we?

Blue Book Chair

One of my fire house book club chica's found this for me...unfortunately I can't find an origin place for it so if anybody can tell me where to find it...

Amelie French Country Grey Literary Script Tufted Accent Chair

Besides having to learn French, I love this chair because of it's unique yet classic shape.  I also like that it is a bit more neutral so I can repaint my nook as many colors as I want...and with my love of change that is probably gonna happen a lot.

Hollow Chair

A comfy chair with the added bonus of not having to get up to start my next book!

Isaac Chaise French Chaise

Sadly this discontinued chaise lounge would have been the perfect combination of comfort and style for my nook...of course if I bat my eyelashes hard enough maybe I can convince them to bring it back!

Cuddle Circle Lounge Chair

How incredibly comfy does this chair look?!?  I can totally see myself curled up in this with my fuzzy blanket and a cup of coffee reading the hours away...and it's red so bonus!

These are just a few of the zillions of awesome chairs that are out there.  Of course with money a consideration I will probably have to reign it in, but a girl can dream.  Let me know if you have any suggestions.  Happy Reading Everybody!

Literal Decorative Books

So apparently you can buy/rent "decorative books" to make your house look like it is a super ritzy library type house.  The books are not really meant for reading, but to add a bit of "how awesome am I to have such a great looking library" to your home.  Now to be fair, this is usually used for set dressings where the look is important, but according to the site they do lots of private homes as well.

I guess if I had a choice all my books would be pretty...I just want books I want to read, not just look at.  That being said, if you are looking for a way to swank up your library go to Bookdecor.com and you too can have a library if nothing else "looks" like it belongs to a collector of antiquities.  I will admit that the various collection this site has is stunning and beautiful...now if we could just figure out a way to take my existing books and make them look just as good.  Happy Reading Everybody!

Planning My Nook

Are all sick of hearing about my new house yet?  You are?  Well tough teeheehee.  One of the coolest things about my soon to be new house is that I have a whole area to my own personal book nook/library.  I am in the planning stages now so here are some of my current inspirations for what will soon be the most epic of book nooks (some of these might have been seen in previous posts...but that's ok 'cause now there for a purpose).

My favorite part about this one is the tree.  I also like the built in little desk to maybe write my super awesome blog on.

So this is probably closer to what will actually happen at my house, a comfy chair shoved into the middle of as many bookshelves as I can cram into my space.

Soooo....I'm pretty sure my Hubbin won't mind if I open up the floor between the stories to make this right...

I wonder how hard it would be to build a day bed right into the book nook?

I would love to add some cool architecture to the room, just for a little uniqueness.

These are just a couple of ideas to add to my ever changing idea of the perfect reading area.  The best part about owning the place is I can pretty much make whatever modifications my budget and know how allow so WOOOHOOO!   Happy Reading Everybody!

A Glass Of Wine

I am a fan of wine...as my numerous posts talking about my consumption of said libation while reading can attest.  This weekend while exploring more book themed things that I don't really need but really want...while sipping vino...led me to these great glasses that I need to sip/gulp/slam wine from while I read.

Julius Caesar Quote Glass

Drink Me Alice In Wonderland Wine Glass

Pride and Prejudice Glass

Harry Potter House Cup Wine Glasses

Lord of the Rings Wine Glasses

So anybody who wants to send a couple of these over my way will be invited over to drink a couple of glasses of vino while discussing all the awesome books!  Happy Reading Everybody!

Bookshelfish

I'm out of bookshelf space again and the books are stacking up in random places.  I told the Hubbin that I was gonna get new book shelves and he called me bookshelfish...this may have something to do with the fact I keep moving his books off the shelves to make room for mine, but in my defense mine are WAY prettier.  The other issue we have is that I may be out of traditional wall space for new shelves, so here are some space saving book storage ideas that may help me and possibly you out.

Expandable Bookshelf

This bookshelf can expand as I buy new books...It's like a dream come true!

Bookwave

This bookshelf can hang anywhere so wall space is no longer an issue

Elastic Bookshelf

A perfect morphing design to squeeze in anywhere I can find a bit of space

Bookshelf Door

Not only is this practical (I have at four doors I could do this to), but you have the added bonus of instant secret door of awesome!

Sapien Bookshelf

This super stackable shelves essentially fit anywhere you can find a spot...I can imagine my house becoming a forest of these things.

Alrighty, now I have tons of idea's to counter my sweet Hubbin when he tries to tell me we are out of room...and if he is a bit less shelfish MAYBE I'll even give him his own book case...if he gets some better looking books.  Happy Reading Everybody!!!!

Writing Desk

I need a writing desk.  I need one to write this blog and become famous and successful...because I heard that is how it works...if you have a great writing desk you win...I might be a little tired...somebody send me one of these and lets see what happens.

Multidrawer desk

I LOVE all the little drawers...don't know what I would put in them...but I love them

Palm Beach Curved Desk

I could write the prettiest books on this pretty desk

Contemporary Writing Desk

I feel more creative just looking at this desk.

Antique Victorian Desk

For writing it old school

Portable Desk

For on the road

I am positive that possessing any of these fine desks would be very helpful in my reading and writing "career" so anybody who assists me with this acquisition will be mentioned in some sort of literary note.  Ok I'm going to bed now.  Happy Reading Everybody!
