I have been inspired by my own blog to make myself some spooky literary decorations.
It's a little hard to tell from my amature photography, but I made these out of heavy card stock that I had printed lines and lines of my favorite book quotes. I have to say I am quit proud of my artistic prowess and may quit my job to sit around making arts and crafts out of quote paper :-) Happy Reading Everybody!

Pumpkin Pages
In case you havn't noticed I LOVE FALL!!!!!!!!! My favorite part is pulling out all of my fall decorations and completly covering the house in red, gold, yellow and brown leaves and PUMPKINS! Every year my sweet Hubbin get's me a new pumpkin and it becomes part of the traditional fall decor. Here are a few book inspired pumpkins I would not mind adding to my collection.

Real Pumpkin
This one is pefect for people who only like the genuine article...with a bit of literary bling.
I realize I post the same type of stuff every year, but I can't help it, I love fall, I love pumpkins, I love books, it's my blog. Best thing about all of these is that they are fairly easy and fairly cheap so really you have no excuse not to make me one...after all it is my birthday month :-) Happy Reading Everybody!

Classic Carves
I've been reading my Legend of Sleepy Hollow and remember just how great the classics are! Here are some pumpkins that have been carved using classic characters from classic books 'cause when you get down to it there is nothing more classic then carving pumpkins around Halloween!
Dracula is still one of the scariest books I have ever read, back when vampires where evil demon creatures not sparkly angsty 100 year old teenagers.
Years ahead of it's time Captain Nemo and his adventures under the sea have been a favorite of mine for years! Though as a kid I was always a wee bit terrified that a giant squid was gonna capsize our boat.
One of our classic American tales of terror, The Raven is probably one of the most recognizable poems out there.

The Headless Horseman
This pumpkin features our Headless Horseman in the above mention The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, one of my favorites
Frankenstein Monster
Loving this classic monster from Frankenstein...remember the Dr. is Frankenstein, and his creation is just called a monster (poor deformed fella)

Count Dracula

20,00 Leagues Under the Sea

The Raven
Have these classic tales of terror inspired you to go pick up a classic? Are you now mulling over your choices in the world of pumpkin carving? Will somebody come to my house and carve me an awesome pumpkin?

Pumpkins Of Literary Excellence
Ok so I really suck at post titles, but I have not finished my coffee yet (how many more times can I use that excuse I wonder?) Last year I posted a couple amazing carved pumpkins based on books, I have found a ton more since then so here are a few of my favorites...anybody want to come over and carve them for me?

Snape
My favorite good/bad guy from Harry Potter

Hunger Games
I love the flame behind the Mockingjay in this Hunger Games Pumpkin, really gets the whole girl on fire theme across

One Ring Pumpkin
This is a great concept, the fiery writing on the One Ring of Lord of the Rings, may have to try this one

Caterpillar Pumpkin
The technique used on this Alice's Adventure in Wonderland pumpkin is really cool

Puck Pumpkin
This may be my favorite pumpkin this year, from A Midsummer Night's Dream simply beautiful.
What kind of pumpkin are you doing this year? Are a patient carver who will take hours to get perfection, or are you like me who starts with grand ideas and then about 20 minutes in decide that half it's face got eaten by wild dingos? How much would you pay to have somebody come carve you the perfect pumpkin?
