Stained Glass Marks My Spot

I love the look of stained glass, and with the weather finally getting nice, the sunshine streaming through the windows makes me think of some ways to incorporate it into my reading.  These gorgeous bookmarks are exactly what I was looking for.

Mermaid Markers

Woohoo, pool time is here!!!!  I am not a huge fan of hot weather, anything above 73 degrees makes me overheat and turn into sweaty crabby girl, but at least the pool is open.  I love going to the pool 'cause 1) I love love love water, I love being in water, around water, watching water, I love water and 2) I get an excuse to read outside for hours at a time 'cause that's what adults are supposed to do at the pool.  Of course I am only a little bit grown up and sometimes I need to put down the book and go swimming.  Here are some swimming mermaid inspired book markers for when you need a cool down.
Diving Mermaid
Would you consider this diving into your book?  Eh...hee hee hee
Crochet Mermaid
Aw she's so cute!
Vintage Mermaid
I love this vintage mermaid, colors, shape, split tail, all very cool
Colorful Mermaids
The variety in these are stunning and awesome
Art Mermaid
There is something about this eclectic piece that I love
Ok so I am off to get a couple of these to accompany me on pool/beach days so I can have my water and swim in it too.  I am also off to by several books with mermaids in them 'cause that sounds like perfect beach reading.  Happy Reading Everybody

Trick Or Bookmark

As Halloween approaches and the days get (hopefully) darker and stormier, I find myself drawn to the more eerie literary picks.  Of course if I am matching my books to my season, then I should match my book marks to my books.  Here are some great Halloween ghoulie/ghostie/witchy type book markers to give my reading that last touch of October.
Vintage Witch
I am loving the colors on this old school girl in a witches costume
Painted Set
I love this set of spooky, but not scary bookmarks
Metal Charm Bookmark
This has everything a good Halloween book should have in it, ghosts, cats, witches, even a headstone!
Ghostie
Aw he's soooo cuuuuteee...I mean spooky, very scary
Evil Penguin
Ok now I totally want somebody to write a book about an evil penguin!
I would be thrilled to find any of these in my Halloween bucket (along with the candy of course!)  Now to go read some more spooky stories! Happy Halloween Reading Everybody!
Do you match your bookmarks to your decor/seasons/books?  Do you think it would be funny to hide a spider bookmark in an aracnophobes favorite book? Who else wants to read about Percy the evil penguin?

Snowflakes In My Books

I love snowflakes, I love that each one is unique even though there are billions of them, I love how they look pretty and sparkly,  I love that they only last for a second, a bit of beautiful perfection for just a brief moment. I usually hate how empty the house looks after Christmas so I put up tons of snowflakes for the winter and then I have my own sparkly winter palace to curl up and read in.  Here are some snowflake bookmarks to help me maintain my icy fantasy.
Silver and Blue Snowflake Bookmark
So pretty, the blue tassel would look elegant in a leather bound book
Colorful Snowflake Bookmarks
I love the colors of these bookmarks...who is going to make me a set?
Silver Metal Snowflake Bookmark
Ooooh Aaaaah
Ribbon and Charms Snowflake Bookmark
This would cheer up even the dreariest winter day
Stamped Snowflake Bookmark
Sweet and simple, just how I like it.

Just for a little fun here is a fun little paper snowflake simulator just like when you were a little kid...or me last week :-)

Do you change your bookmarks to match your decor?  How many bookmarks do you have?  Do you actually use them or are they on display all over your house like mine?

Marking The Leaves With Leaves

Along with zombies, October also offers us here in DC the best of fall, the colors are changing on the trees, the air is crisp, and I can finally put on my pretty fall sweaters and boots!  Here are some great autumn book marks to celebrate the occasion.

Softly Falling
Loving the end leaf beads on this one
Wool and Ribbon Pumpkin Bookmark
Ahhh so cute, what a little baby pumpkin
Wood Fall Leaves Bookmark
Carved wood AND fall leaves, yes please!
Fabric Leaf Bookmark
This looks so much like a real leaf, I must have it
Pressed Leaf Bookmark
I love the vivid  colors they managed to capture in this one
Fall Mermaid Bookmark
Fall and Mermaids, not a normal pairing, but awesome all the same
Colorful Leaves Bookmark
The cutouts on this are very cool

Which one of these tickles your fancy?  What most reminds you of fall?  Are you as tempted as I am to get a different fall book mark for every book you own so that they can all celebrate fall with you?

Just For Me

Just finished the most insanely awesome week with my Mamma, I am happy exhausted.  One of the things we did while she was here was visit the Renaissance Festival.  While we were there we found a place where a guy did amazing calligraphy and this is what my wonderful Mamma had made for me.

This was made using a pen that was over 100 years old!  It's hard to see in these pictures but there is gorgeous gold scroll work behind my name.  With a name like mine the only time I get things with my name on it is if it is specially made, but nobody else can claim it as theirs :-)  Hope everybody else is having as fabulous a week as I am.

Cool Bookmarks

I love cool bookmarks, I don't use them very often 'cause I read so many books at once...plus I tend to lose them.  That does not mean however I do not love a good bookmark, I especially love the pretty princess jewel ones.  Here are some cool bookmarks that might make people look at you a little funny, but that's ok we are all used to that right?
Oozing Books!
Legs!

Wicked Witch of the East
Growing In My Book
Ghosties!

I Feel Like This All The Time

Are these bookmarks you would actually use?  Do you use bookmarks, or just display/lose them like me?  What is the prettiest/weirdest/most unique bookmark you have?
